What the Harvest Moon Brings Up
In short
Fernanda explains that the Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox. In 2026 the two were only four days apart. For her, the season is already asking you to let go, and the full moon brings feelings to the surface, like the tide bringing things up onto the sand. That's why the week can feel heavier than a normal full moon week. She meets it with awareness, then acceptance, then release, in that order.
- The Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox.

- She notices clients carry more tension and tears in the days before a full moon.
- Her order is awareness, acceptance, then release; skip a step and it comes back.

This week, something might already be surfacing. A memory you thought was done. A tear that comes out of nowhere. That's not random. Saturday is the Harvest Moon, and the days before it are usually the loudest. I'm Fernanda. I've been an energy healer for over twenty years, and every autumn, this is the week my clients need the most help letting go. So today I want to show you why this exact moon pulls things up, and give you a real way to put them down before it passes. There's a two-minute practice at the end, for tonight. One thing first. This is a complementary practice. It sits alongside your doctor, never instead of them.
Here's what makes this particular full moon different from the others. The autumn equinox already passed this week, on the twenty-second. That's the day light and dark split evenly, and then the dark starts winning. So the season itself is already asking you to let go. Slow down. Release. Saturday's full moon is called the Harvest Moon, because it's the one closest to that equinox. Farmers used to call it that because its light was bright enough, several nights in a row, to help them bring in the last of the harvest before the frost. Which means two things are happening on the same night. The season's letting go, and the moon's way of bringing things to the surface. For me, that's why this week feels heavier than a normal full moon week. It's doing double work. This year, the two are only four days apart. You don't have to track any of this to feel it. Your body already knows what week it is.
I talked about the sleep studies in another video, so I won't repeat them here. What I notice is what actually happens, every single month, in my room. In the days before a full moon, people come in carrying more. More tension. More tears. Some cry without knowing why. Some just feel irritable, for no clear reason at all. Old feelings show up that they thought were finished a long time ago. Some of my clients call it their nervous system being extra sensitive that week. I call it the moon. Either way, it's real. That's the moon doing what the moon does. It brings things to the surface, the way the tide brings things up onto the sand. The moon turns the volume up on a feeling that was already sitting quietly underneath everything else, days before you even noticed it. So a hard week right now is just the tide doing its job.
Call it energy. Or call it tension, if that word sits better with you. Either way, notice where it's showing up in your body. Shoulders. Jaw. The chest. Wherever it lands for you. For me, this is the whole practice, in four steps. Awareness first. Then acceptance. Then release. In that order, always. Notice where the heaviness sits. Hold that feeling for a little bit. Feel it with all your cells. Really feel it. Then accept it. You don't have to like it, you just have to stop fighting it. And only then, with the breath, let it go. Skip a step and it comes right back. I've seen it happen. Naming it helps too. Say it out loud, or write it down. That's how your brain understands it's allowed to let go.
So where does it go, once you actually let it go? The earth has held mountains for millions and millions of years. Your Tuesday is not too heavy for it. Hand it over. Down your arms, out of your palms, into the ground. Ask Mother Earth to look after it. You don't pick it back up. Nobody ever picks back up what they released. So when you hand it over, you're not giving it to a stranger. You're giving it back to where you came from. We came from earth. The minerals, the water. We carry that history inside our bodies, millions of years of it, and most days we don't even realize it.
So here's the two minutes I'd ask you to give this, before Saturday night, or on it. Sit somewhere quiet. Let the chair hold you, the same way it holds you at the end of a long day. Find the moon, through a window or outside. If you can't see it, just picture it. Your body doesn't check. Take three slow breaths. Out longer than in, like the tide going out. Now ask yourself two things. What became clear for me this month? And what am I ready to put down? Hand that answer over. Down your arms, out of your palms. You can write it and burn it, or fold the paper and put it under a stone. Then put a small bowl of water on the windowsill, where the moon can reach it. In the morning, wash your face with it, and ask the water to take what you don't want to carry into the day. Then name one thing you're grateful for. Just one.
This is what the harvest actually means to me. Gathering in what's good, and letting the rest fall away. Do that once, around this moon, and you'll walk into October lighter, instead of carrying last month with you. If you want more of this, I've put my ten-day journey together. It's called The Nature Reset. The link is below. And there's a link to book a gentle session too. In person, or from anywhere. The earth has held mountains for millions of years. It can hold this too. I'm Fernanda. Come as you are.
Would you like Fernanda to guide you herself? Sessions are online from anywhere, or in person in the Lower Mainland, BC. Or start with the ten-day audio course.
