Water, Fire, Earth, Air: How I Ask the Elements for Help
In short
Fernanda works with water, fire, earth, air, and spirit above them all. Each morning she asks herself which one she needs that day. Water cleanses. Fire burns what doesn't serve you and gives you strength. Earth grounds you, air lets things go with the breath and the wind, and spirit brings protection and love. The key, she says, is to ask clearly, because the elements need to know exactly what you're looking for.
- Her order is water, fire, earth, air, and spirit above them all.
- Don't just hope the day goes well; set a clear intention and ask for it.
- She asks the water in the shower to wash away the day, and keeps salt by the bed.
- Pick an element by intuition; if something pulls you toward one, trust that pull.

Some mornings the heaviness is already there before you even open your eyes. Nothing has gone wrong yet. Nobody has said a word to you. And it's already sitting on your chest. I'm Fernanda. I've been an energy healer for over twenty years, and every single morning, I ask the elements for help. So today I want to show you exactly how I do that. Water, fire, earth, air, and spirit above them all. And a one-minute practice you can try before this video ends. One thing first. This is a complementary practice. It sits alongside your doctor, never instead of them.
For me, it's water, fire, earth, air, and spirit above them all. That's the order I go in, every single time. Five doorways. Five different kinds of help. And each one only works if you tell it exactly what you need. Water, fire, earth, and air are the ones you can touch. Spirit is the one that watches over the other four. So before I do anything else in the morning, even before coffee, I ask myself one simple question. Which one of these five do I need today?
Water is cleansing. Re-energizing. Releasing. It washes, it refills, it lets go. Fire burns everything that doesn't serve you, and gives you the strength to move on. For me, the sun is fire. Earth is where I feel grounded and connected. Standing in full balance. I feel it in my legs first. That's usually where I know I'm not grounded yet. Air is the breath. Through the wind, you let go of everything in your body and your head that doesn't resonate. It's usually the fastest one to notice. A change in the wind, and something in you already knows. And spirit sits above all four. It gives hope. Protection. Love. Spirit doesn't need a religion behind it. For me, it's just the part of this that looks after the other four.
Here's the part most people skip. We hope the day goes well. We don't actually ask for anything. The elements need to know exactly what we are looking for. So every morning, I set an intention. That way the day goes well, or at least doesn't go as badly as I expected. It doesn't have to be a long conversation. One sentence in your head is enough. If I'm drawn to the sun, I ask it to fill me with strength for the day. If I'm drawn to water, in the shower, I ask it to wash away everything that happened, everything I don't want to carry. You can say it out loud where no one can hear you, or just think it. The elements aren't picky. If I'm drawn to earth, I ask for soil to stand tall and face whatever I have to face. If I'm drawn to spirit, I ask it to protect me and surround me with love. And at night, a little salt by the bed. I ask it to clear my body of whatever doesn't serve me.
In my room, I notice something. People carry too much, and they don't release enough. Someone comes in and tells me exactly what they need released. I can feel the air in the room change before we've even started. The ones who ask for something specific leave lighter. The ones who just hope leave carrying the same thing they walked in with. That's not magic. That's just what happens when you finally say out loud what you needed all along.
You don't have to believe five elements are standing above you for any of this to help. You don't need to feel actual fire or actual wind for this to work. For me, it's a feeling more than anything else. Call it a ritual if that's easier. A moment of attention. A way to tell your brain what you want today. It's the same idea. You're just choosing your own words for it. So how do you pick which one? Intuition. If something pulls you toward a certain element, trust that pull. It's information. Some people always reach for water. Some always reach for earth. There's no wrong answer here. Maybe it's water today. Maybe it's the sun. You don't need a reason. You just need to notice which one you reached for.
Let's try one minute of it, right now, in your chair. Sit back. Let the chair hold you, the same way it holds you at the end of a long day. Send roots down from your feet. Down through the floor, into the ground. Let your shoulders drop. Let your jaw unclench. Now notice. Which element is pulling at you right now? Water. Fire. Earth. Air. Spirit. Whichever one it is, that's the one. In your own words, ask it for one thing. Just one. Now breathe out. Longer than it came in. Like the tide going out. And before you open your eyes, name one thing you're grateful for. Just one.
That's it. One ask, one breath, and something to be grateful for. Do that most mornings, and something genuinely shifts. You stop hoping the day goes well. You start asking for it, out loud or in your head. The elements need to know exactly what you are looking for. So tell them, clearly, the way you'd tell a friend exactly what you need. If you'd like to go deeper, I've put my ten-day journey together. It's called The Nature Reset. The link is below. And there's a link to book a gentle session too. In person, or from anywhere. I feel more like myself when I'm connecting with those five elements. I'm Fernanda. Come as you are.
Would you like Fernanda to guide you herself? Sessions are online from anywhere, or in person in the Lower Mainland, BC. Or start with the ten-day audio course.
