What is energy healing?
For me, energy is the vibration and the frequency of each organ. Nothing spookier than that. People carry too much and don't release enough, and it sits in the body as tension, a tight chest, heavy shoulders. In a session you rest, and I work gently with that energy so your body can let some of it go. Call it energy, or call it tension. We're talking about the same thing.
Is this Reiki?
Reiki is one tool inside my energy work. A man named Mikao Usui developed it in Japan in the 1920s, so it has a name and a date. I use my hands, my attention, and a lot of quiet, together with grounding, the breath and release. More in my video What is Reiki, without the mystical explanation.
Do I have to believe in it?
No. It doesn't matter if you believe it or not. What matters is that this is a safe space for you to work on yourself. Some of my closest friends don't believe in what I do, and we respect each other just fine.
How does an online session work if you're not in the room?
We agree on a time. You lie down at home, somewhere quiet, with your phone in another room. You don't have to do anything. I hold the space on my end for the length of a normal session, the same way I would with you in the room. Afterwards I send you a short message about what I noticed. More in my video What distance healing actually is.
What will I feel?
Everybody feels it differently. Warmth, tingling, a deep calm that comes on slowly. Sometimes sleepiness, sometimes tears for no reason you can name. Some people feel nothing at all during, and lighter after. There's no wrong way to feel a session.
Where are in-person sessions?
In the Lower Mainland, British Columbia: Vancouver and the cities nearby. Tell me which city you're in when you email, and I'll reply with times.
How much is a session, and how do I book?
Email me at [email protected], or use the buttons on this page, which fill the email in for you. I reply personally, usually within a day or two, with times and the session fee. Asking is free.
Does it replace my doctor or therapist?
No. This is a complementary practice. It sits alongside your doctor, your therapist and your medication, never instead of them. If you've felt bad for months, please also talk to your doctor.
