What Happens in Your First Session
Full transcript
Something in you wants to book a session. And something else keeps closing the tab before you finish. Maybe it's the not knowing. What actually happens once you're lying on that table, with a stranger nearby. I'm Fernanda. I've been an energy healer for over twenty years, and I still remember exactly how that not knowing felt, before my own very first session. So today I'm taking you through a first session with me, start to finish, every step, so there are no surprises. And at the end, a one-minute taste of it, right there in your chair. One thing first. This is a complementary practice. It sits alongside your doctor, never instead of them.
For me, the simplest way to explain what I do is this. Your body is a home with many rooms, built over your whole life. Some rooms you walk through every single day, without noticing. Some you haven't opened in years. A session doesn't force anything open. It simply opens the windows in the rooms that have been closed too long, so the air can move again. Call it energy, or call it tension, or call it whatever word feels true for you. Somewhere between my definition and yours is fine. You don't need to believe in any of it for this to work. The windows open either way, quietly, in their own time.
So let's walk through exactly what happens, step by step, from the moment you knock on the door. You arrive, and we sit down and talk for a few minutes about what you're carrying right now, not your whole history, just today. Then you lie down, fully dressed, on the table, under a warm blanket if you'd like one. The room stays quiet. Sometimes my hands rest near your shoulders, your feet, your head. Sometimes they stay just above them, not touching at all. That's it, really. For about an hour, that's the whole session.
Here's the part people don't expect. I won't tell you where you're holding it, even though I can often feel that something is there. People carry too much, and they don't release enough. So each person holds it somewhere different. Shoulders, chest, the lower back, the jaw. So instead of telling you where, I ask you to notice for yourself. It's all about awareness, building it a little more each time. In my room, I notice the air change where something is stuck, a kind of density, right there. You might just feel warmth. Or tension. Or nothing yet, and that's fine too. All of it is information, not a test you can fail.
So what does it actually feel like, once you're lying there on the table? A lot of people notice warmth spreading through their body, or a tingling in the hands and feet. Some feel a deep calm they haven't felt in months, the kind that makes the whole day feel slower. Some just fall asleep. Sometimes a feeling rises and moves through, and there are tears. That's common in my room. Nobody has ever been sorry afterwards. And some people feel nothing at all, the first time, and worry something's wrong. It isn't. Sensing grows with practice, for you and for me. Afterwards, almost everyone says the same thing, in their own words. They feel lighter.
So what happens after you leave my room? Drink some water. Rest if you can, even for twenty minutes, before you go back to your day. Over the next few days, just notice. Your sleep, your mood, what settles that didn't before. Before you go, I tell you a few words about what I noticed changing in the room while you rested. Just an observation, never a diagnosis.
A session doesn't force anything open. It opens the windows in the rooms that have been closed too long. That's just as true by distance as it is in person, on my table. People always ask me if it has to be in person for any of this to work. I work both ways. In person, here in the Lower Mainland. Or by distance, from wherever you are. A distance session looks almost the same as an in-person one. We agree on a time, and you lie down at home, on your own bed or your own couch. I hold the same quiet space, at the same hour, from my room to yours. Your body doesn't check the distance either.
Before you go, let's do one minute of what that first minute on my table actually feels like. Sit back. Let the chair hold you, the same way it holds you at the end of a long day, when you finally sit down. Notice where today is sitting in your body right now. Don't change it yet. Just notice it. Breathe in slowly, through your nose. And out, longer than it came in, like the tide going out. Once more. In, slowly. And out, longer, like the tide pulling back. Let your shoulders drop, just a little, and let your jaw soften too. That little bit of space you just felt? That's you, coming back to yourself.
That's what happens in a session, really. Nothing dramatic. You rest. I hold a quiet, calm space. And your body softens on its own, in its own time. A session doesn't force anything open. It opens the windows in the rooms that have been closed too long. If you want to go deeper on your own first, I've put my ten-day guided journey together. It's called The Nature Reset. The link is below. And when you're ready for the table, there's a link to book a gentle session too. In person, or from anywhere. You don't need to believe anything walking in. You just need to lie down, and let the windows open, one at a time. I'm Fernanda. Come as you are.
Would you like Fernanda to guide you herself? Sessions are online from anywhere, or in person in the Lower Mainland, BC. Or start with the ten-day audio course.
